Can I splice my 12 awg black wire going to my 4 ways light box to my black wire 7 ways pins? Will it overheath? Thanks!

Hey Francis, so it really depends on what the circuit will be used for. The standard recommendation for this circuit is 10 gauge wire like the # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) but if the circuit won't be drawing that much amperage there's no reason 12 gauge like part # 12-1-1 wouldn't work. It wouldn't overheat the wire unless it was getting overdrawn by something. Without a circuit attached drawing amperage the circuit would not just by itself get the wire warm.
That said, to charge a trailer battery decently 10 gauge is the way to go. 12 gauge won't get hot or anything but the charge would be so low it wouldn't be much worth it.
