Question:
I recently purchased a 2004 Teton / Freedom Experience and I need to replace one of my AC units. However, when I had a workman up on the roof the other day he told me that all of the stickers had been removed so strange! making it impossible to tell what make/model I have. He did say it was the original unit though. Ive never had an RV before - never even been in one - and am very much in the learning stage about all things RV! Can you help me determine which AC unit would be a good replacement? Or maybe tell me how I can find out what type of unit I currently have? Ive done multiple google searches, but no luck yet. Thanks!

Hello Lisa, thanks for reaching out. Identifying the brand of your AC unit is going to help a lot when selecting a new AC unit. Especially if everything inside the camper like the thermostat and vent still works fine, and you want to swap out just the rooftop portion.
Since you don't know the brand, a good way to help determine replacement options is to look at the plug for the AC unit. There are two common plugs for RV AC units, a 6-pin plug and a 9-pin plug, and your AC unit will almost definitely use one of these two plugs. You would of course need to partially remove the AC unit to get to the plug.
To help simplify things, there is an adapter that can be used to adapt the 9-pin connector to the 6-pin connector. What I would do is go ahead and order your new AC unit, and order the adapter kit as well. This way you will be guaranteed to have what you need to install a new AC regardless of what plug type you have, you just may or may not need the adapter kit.
I recommend going with a Furrion AC unit, since they are dependable, efficient, and quiet. The Furrion AC part number # FR82PV will come with a 13,500 BTU air conditioner as well as the 9-pin to 6-pin adapter kit.
You will find links below to an installation and review video for this AC unit. You can feel free to reach out to me if you have further questions.
