Recommended Trailer Brakes For 7,000lb Lippert Axle

Question:

Trailer with lippert 7000 lb axle serial s005162651 LCI70-SB-92.5-74.5-NOSP-OS-L-86517-7227-18PT I am needing brake assembly for both sides. What do you recommend?

For your 7K Lippert Axle I'd go with the etrailer # AKEBRK-7-SA you were looking at. They will be a direct replacement, and will include both sides for one axle, if you have two axles, you're going to need two of these.

I really like the self-adjusting brakes, because it will keep you from having to crawl under the trailer every year to manually adjust your brakes to keep the brakes performing how they should. Pretty much install them, break them in (Which most people don't seem to do), and forget about them for quite a few years until the shoes wear out.

To bed the brakes you'll want to check out the help article I attached, because if you don't bed the brakes, you'll never get full braking performance, no matter what brand the brakes you go with are.

It appears I only need one assembly, passenger side. Do you all sell just that one?

@Kevin # AKEBRK-7R-SA is the left side brake assembly from that kit, though its usually best to replace both at the same time, unless current brakes are new and one side just had a issue that wasn't the shoes wearing out from use.
