Troubleshooting A Powered Retrax Tonneau Cover That Won't Retract

Question:

My Retrax power motor is not engaged sounds normal but not open or close the bed cover, it is moving in side but not operate the bed cover

Hey Jaime,

I would not run the motor any more until we figure out the issue just incase you're stripping the gears. You'll need to remove the cover from the bed to gain access to the canister and check to see if the gear teeth are stripped and/or if there's something binding up the cover and preventing it from retracting. It could be as simple as it coming in at the slightest angle and binding. I would definitely reach out to Retrax and see if your warranty covers replacement parts to avoid having to pay for anything.

I have a retractable worm remote control and sudendly wont open or close stuck right in the middle and an doesn’t make any sound or move thx

@Jorge If it's not even making a sound like it's jamming in the rails then you likely blew a fuse and just need to restore power. I would check to ensure it's getting power first and that all connections are fully secure. If it's still not working let me know and we can keep troubleshooting.

@KevinC my retrax is not opening or closing freely it gets a couple inches then stops weather its opening or closing

@Gio Does the motor just stop or does it sound like it's trying to open/close and it's binding up on something? I would start by checking the voltage coming to the cover to make sure it's actually getting enough to properly operate.
