Question:

Can you please tell me if the following are the correct parts for adding a brake controller to a 2018 Nissan Armada that will be pulling a travel trailer with electric brakes? Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Nissan and Infiniti Item # 3050-P

Hi Robert,

Yes, both the Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 and Plug-In wire harness # 3050-P would be a compatible fit for your 2018 Nissan Armada. To activate the brakesYou'll also need a 7-way socket at the back of your Armada for the trailer to plug into and receive the signals from the Armada. If you don't have a 7-way but do have the factory connector tucked up back there then you can just install the Hopkins # N40975.

If you don't have a 7-way you'll need to first check if you at least have a 4-way. If not, you'll need the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236. Once installed you can then install the # ETBC7 kit but you'll have to splice the blue wire into the blue wire of the # 3050-P in order to get the brake output signal from the brake controller to the 7-way.
