Best Way To Convert A 2" Ball Coupler To A Lunette Ring
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Good Afternoon: Is there something similar to Item # T4865700 with a 3 wide channel instead of 3.5? I would like to convert a standard 2 ball coupler to lunet ring. Closest I found is Item # T4748000. Which is an overkill for a trailer with max capacity of 3.5k. Thank you. Carlos

Hey Carlos we do have a good solution for converting the 2" ball coupler on your trailer to a lunette ring. What I recommend is the Demco 5-Position Adjustable Channel Bracket # DM13867-52. This can be bolted to a 3" wide trailer tongue and will give you the 3" wide channel that you are looking for. You can use that with a Lunette Ring like part # DM09557-81. You will also need some grade 5 or higher bolts such as # PS024202 to bolt the ring to the channel, as well as hardware for bolting the coupler to the trailer tongue.
The Channel coupler I mentioned is rated for 12,000 lbs and you are right it is a bit of overkill for a 3.5K trailer, but if you want to convert to a Lunette Ring this will be the best option that does not require any welding.
