What Bolts Should I Use To Install A Draw Tite Class 3 Trailer Hitch
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Can you tell me if the attached hex screws are strong enough for your Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer 2-inch Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III ? They are Everbilt M10-1.25 x 35mm metric cap screws, zinc plated, to be used with 3/8inch conical washers. Are these a safe and reliable choice? Thank you! Tom

While grade 8 bolts like you have are recommended to install a class 3 trailer hitch, I do not recommend using the bolts in your picture. For a trailer hitch like the Curt #14001 you were looking at, it uses 1/2" x 13 grade 8 bolts. Hitch manufacturers including Draw-tite and Curt recommend only using manufacturer approved hardware. We can provide a complete hardware kit of all manufacturer approved hardware in part # RHK. Just enter to correct part number from your hitch before adding to your cart. That way we can ensure you are getting the correct bolts.
