How to Prevent Rear Suspension Sag on 2021 Toyota Highlander Towing Trailer

Question:

I am taking my first long trip with my 2021 Highlander and it’s sagging a little from the combination of payload and trailer tongue weight. It’s not alarming but I’d rather it sat an inch or two higher. What product do you recommend to help the springs under load? The trailer only weighs a little over 2000 lbs so I don’t think a weight distribution hitch is the answer, especially with a unibody vehicle.

The SumoSprings kit part # CSS-1145R is exactly what you are looking for. This will give the rear suspension of your 2021 Toyota Highlander additional support to get rid of the sagging you mentioned. You are right that a weight distribution system would not be the answer for your vehicle either due to it being uni-body. Your vehicle actually isn't rated for weight distribution for this exact reason.

Hello. Is there something similar to The SumoSprings kit part # CSS-1145R. But for a 2024 Toyota Grandhighlander? My pop up camper is about 3200 lbs and the hitch weight is about 350 lbs. I am looking for something that will help with the sagging.

@QP I hope we get something soon for your vehicle but at this time we don't have any suspension kits that fit your Grand Highlander.

Is this compatible with the 2024 Highlander Hybrid?

@Jay It does not fit the hybrid models but it does fit 24 non-hybrids.
