Can 8" Trailer Wheels Be Upgraded to 10" Trailer Wheels and Fit Widthwise

Published 04/18/2023

Question:

Im looking to upgrade my 8 inch trailer tires to 10s, but all the 10s im seeing are 8 inches wide and i think they would rub the frame. Are there any 10 inch tire and wheel combos that are more narrow than 8 inches or have a wheel offset that would make it fit? Im not wanting to go all the way up to a 12.

For your application you need to stick with your 8" wheels, otherwise you're looking at tires with a larger width and will likely rub against the trailer frame as you stated. Unfortunately there aren't any 10" wheels with an offset to give you enough clearance.

If you're needing to replace your 8" tire then I recommend checking out the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire # AM10013. This is a 5.70-8 size tire with a load range of D (1,075 lbs at 100 psi) and fits 8" x 3-3/4" wheels.

Attached is a review video for you to check out!
