Will The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13524 Require a Stabilizing Strap With Thule 4-Bike Rack?

Question:

I have a 1997 rav 4 I did already purchase the curt 13524 class 3 trailer hitch. Im planning to attach a 4 bike Thule rack I have. Can I use this without using a strap? I only really plan to use 2 bikes on this rack but most of the time just 1. Also Im planning to go offroad on a sand terrain, will this trailer hitch connected with a factor 55 trailer hitch link be a good recovery point if I was to ever get stuck and needed to be pulled out?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13524 for your 1997 Toyota RAV4 does not require you to use a strap to remove the rattle some of Curt's smaller receivers will require. If your Thule 4 bike rack requires a strap then it must still be used. If you can let me know what bike rack you have I can help identify this as well if it is okay to use off-road as not all bike racks are rated for off-road use.

As the Curt Receiver # C13524 is rated for up to 4,000lbs towing weight as long as your vehicle does not exceed this you will be able to use it as a winch point for recovery.
