Choosing Between the BetterWeigh and Haul Gauge App for Tongue Weight and Payload Scale

Question:

I have purchases a Betterweigh device on Amazon. There seems to be 2 accompanying mobile apps. 1 better weigh and 2 Haulguage. Haulguage was updated 3 weeks ago, while Betterweigh has not been updated for more than a year. Should i use Haulguage?

The BetterWeigh Mobile Tongue Weight and Payload Scale for OBD II part # C51701 formerly known as Haul Gauge is designed to be used with the "BetterWeigh" mobile app per the manufacturer. If you have the older Haul Gauge branded unit, you'd still want to use the "BetterWeigh" mobile app.

Conner, I understand the same engineer designed both then sold out to Curt who now has dumped or sold it. I have had a weigh better for several years and loved it, I now have a 2024 F350 diesel 4x4 when I plugged in my weigh better it detected the new vin on my truck but said the data was not available for my truck and suggested I go through a calibration routine but of course it's asking for vehicle weights, are they going to update the data base to include my current truck or Shi I go the the cat scale and weigh my truck?

@Jerry Hey Jerry, unfortunately since this is discontinued, Curt can not give the info you're looking for. I assume it will not be updated since it is discontinued. That said, you will likely need to get your truck weighed if you do not have an accurate enough number in mind.

@AndrewN I believe Weigh Better has morphed into Haul Gauge, do you know anything about them?
