Question:
Question regarding part # TK26FR. Kia has sent out recalls for factory wiring harnesses for tow-hitches... Is this the same as the OEM wiring harness and thus possibly affected. or do you happen to know if the issue is related to dealer installation method rather than product? I could not get a reply for Kia whether or not if was a affected with this wiring harness on their recall notice. All they show is a picture of a car having a hitch or not, saying if yo have a hitch you are affected even though they specifically mention the wiring harness being the issue, the image to determine if you are affected only shows an image of having a hitch or not, not the actual wiring harness which is very non-helpful... Appreciative of any information you might have on the issue. Some recall info mentions The problem should only impact 4-pin harnesses supplied by Mobis Parts America. I cant tell if that is same manufacturer as part TK26FR? https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=22V703000 Regards.

Thanks for all of that information!
From what I'm seeing it looks like that Mobis Parts America wiring harness is something that could be added on at the dealership if requested which means the issue would be isolated to that wiring harness alone and not the standard OEM wiring of the vehicle. The T-One Wiring Harness # TK26FR is made by Tekonsha which is different than Mobis Parts America to you will be perfectly safe to install this wiring harness as an alternative.
This harness tees into plugs behind your tail lights and then draws power directly from the battery on your 2022 Kia Sorento via the included lead. I also recommend picking up the mounting brackets # 18144 and # 18140 so you can keep the 4-Way connector located near your hitch receiver.
Attached are some videos and installation instructions for you to check out.
