Troubleshooting Jensen RV Stereo JWM452 and Phillips TV Not Recognizing DVD Player
Question:
I have a jensen jwm452 built in my rv. I added a Philips roku smart TV. Hold hdmi cable to video out to hdmi 1 on TV. No picture. TV doesnt recognize DVD player is on.. what am I doing wrong?

If the HMDI port on the back of the Jensen RV Stereo # JWM45 doesn't seem to be communicating properly with your Phillips TV then there are a handful of things to check:
1. Check the HDMI cord with 2 things that you know will work (like swapping it out with an HMDI cord in your living room)
2. Using a working HDMI cord, check the Jensen stereo DVD player with a TV you know works just fine
3. Using a working HDMI cord, check the Phillips TV with a device you know the HDMI output works (like a DVD player or gaming console in your living room)
Once you test all 3 of these scenarios it should tell you which part of your setup is the problem. I know this isn't the thing you want to hear, but Phillips used to be "THE" brand for TVs a while back but then something happened a few years ago and their quality started slipping up some so I wouldn't be super surprised if the problem ends up being the TV. My father in-law bought one 2 years ago and it's a touchy when it comes to getting remotes and such to work correctly.
