Recommended Tire Chains for a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 w/ 275/55 R20 Tires
Question:
Greetings, I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ 4x4 Crew Cab truck. Tire size is 275/55/R20. My owners manual states no tire chains. The truck is out of warranty so Im not worried about that. Im concerned more about our safety on snowy/icy roads. Is it possible to use chains without damaging anything? If so, what is our recommendation? Thanks for your time!

To add a set of tire chains to your Silverado's 275/55 R20 tires you will want to use the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains - Ladder Pattern item # TC2828. These chains have v-bar studs to help grip into the ice and give you traction. The ladder-pattern design helps with starting and stopping.
If you hook this up right you shouldn't damage anything but your owner's manual said not to use them for a reason. You'll want to make sure you have enough clearance before you test them out under harsh conditions.
I have linked an installation video below.
I recommend using the Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster for Light Trucks item # TCMA2 to keep the tension tight on these chains.
