After checking your owners manual on your 2013 BMW Z4 it appears you are only able to tow the manual transmission on a dolly like the Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly # DM9713093. If you have the automatic transmission it is only capable of being towed with all 4 wheels off the ground. You will not be able to flat tow either version which explains why Blue Ox and Roadmaster do not make base plates for your Z4.
If space is a concern the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly # DM9713045 fold up to a small 101" wide, 67" long footprint.
