Troubleshooting An 88 Error Code On A Furrion RV Fireplace

Question:

I know that means the fan is overheating. I have vacuumed all the vents and it is still showing code 88

The overheat protection on your Furrion RV Electric Fireplace with Logs # F30SW15ABL is kicking on the so the only way to clear it is to remove it from the power source for 15 mins to fully shut down and to clean out the vents like you stated you already have.

If resetting the unit doesn't solve the issue then the circuit board on it might need to be replaced. This is an item only Furrion would have so you would need to contact them directly.

How do you remove the cover of the fireplace

@LisaF Most fireplaces will either have a trim piece hiding the mounting screws or the entire face of the fireplace will be removeable. In both cases I've found that you typically need to push up on the trim or faceplate to lift it off of the bracket(s) it's mounted to so that you can see the screws that mount the unit to the wall. Furrion typically has the whole faceplate come off and Greystone will typically have a smaller trim piece to remove.
