Troubleshooting Fastway e2 Weight Distribution With Movement in L Brackets
Updated 08/31/2022 | Published 08/29/2022 >
Question:
I have the e2 weight dist hitch 6000#. My brackets attaching to the trailer frame continue to slide back after towing a day or two. More movement if you do a u turn. If I tighten more the brackets bend. Any solution as i am out on the road 3500 miles from home?

The bolts that hold the L brackets for the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Round - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # FA94-00-0600 need to be torqued to a specific setting which you can find in your installation instructions (as well as the linked instructions on this page). If you haven't torqued them specifically then that would explain why things are slipping. You also need to be sure that the brackets are square with the trailer frame during the installation.
The instructions say that an improper installation or under tightening can cause the link plates to "walk" along the trailer frame so it sounds like you need to recheck your installation.
Once you have everything setup properly let me know if you're still having this issue and I can see if there is anything else that you can do.
