Solution for Over-Under Conversion Kit on Lowes 4 x 6 Carry-On Trailer
Question:
Just picked up a 4x6 Carry-On Trailer from Lowes the other day, and Im looking to get a little more ground clearnence with a Straight Axle Overslung conversion. With the end game to turn this into an adventure trailer with RTT. Scouring the internet for information on the current axle size to get a better idea on which kit to use. Seems like a straight forward process but any insight on what you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Was referred by a friend to check yall out. Thank.

In order to determine the correct kit for your trailer I recommend measuring the diameter of your axle. The # K71-384-00 is for a 2-3/8" axle. More than likely you have a 2,000 lb axle with a 1-3/4" diameter. You will need to confirm this. Although there is no kit available for this axle diameter you can put one together.
What you need is the U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 2,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles - 4-1/4" Long U-Bolts # APUBR-10 along with the Spring Seat for Typical 2,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles with 1-3/4" Diameter - Qty 1 # TRSS175. Using these together will allow you to flip the axle just like you would with the Dexter kit and gain the additional clearance you're looking for.
