2011 Toyota RAV4 Bike Rack Recommendation to Clear Spare Tire

Question:

Is the distance from the center of the hitch pin to the rear wheel cover for my 2011 RAV4 the same as the distance noted on the bike carrier descriptions as distance between the carrier when folded up? I want to make sure the Kuat Transfer V2 for 2inch hitch and the Rocky Mount Mono Rail would fit? Thank You!

It all depends on what hitch you have installed on your 2011 Toyota RAV4. For example, when we installed the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98864 on a 2011 RAV4 we measured 7" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the spare tire. If this matches what you have then neither rack will be able to fold up - you need to verify this on your end.

If you measure 7" for spare tire clearance then I recommend checking out the Yakima HoldUp EVO Bike Rack # Y02479 because it has the same basic features the 2 other racks have you mentioned plus it sits further out at 7-1/2" when folded up.
