Question:
Does my shower have to be done in under 20 minutes to prevent water from becoming cold? And how long do I have to stand there waiting before I can resume? If I turn the water off for approximately 5 seconds after 15 minutes of use, will I get another 20 minutes or how long does it take to reset the timer?

Those are all great questions, lets see what I found out about the Excel.
**Excel RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Electric Ignition - Vent Free - 38,000 Btu # EX93FR.
*Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 41,800 Btu - White # LSB64FR.
*Camco RV Water Heater Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve - 1/2" Valve w/ 4" Probe # CAM10423.
I spoke to one of my coworkers that actually had this unit in their RV.
In regards to the 20 minute shut off, just turn it off and right back on it will take less than a minute to be back up to full temp again. They never had any issues with waiting on hot water to come back. It will randomly turn itself on to keep the water inside its piping at a warm temp.
The only issue was the ventilation. It gives off a lot of water vapor and if you do not find a way to vent it outside it will fog up your windows and if it is near wood or carpet you will need to make sure its treated for water resistance.
There is always the chance that it will deplete the oxygen levels in a small space if you do not vent it outside. I recommend using a unit like this in a cabin or garage where it has more room to vent. It will still do a good job in an RV, I just think there is a better option.
I recommend the Fogatti tankless water heater, it vents outside and can produce 90 gallons of hot water an hour. it is a very easy install that will use current fittings and lines. You only need to add a pressure relief valve that I have linked for you. It is an endless supply of hot water, no timer. As long as it has propane it will keep making hot water.
