Video Transcript for Camco RV Water Heater Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve Review

Hi there RV and camper owners. Today, we're going to be taking a look at Camco's water pressure relief valve. This water pressure relief valve has a half inch inlet and outlet, and is designed to protect your pipes in your trailer or RV from an over pressure or an over temperature condition. The relief valve is set at 150 psi. So in the event that the outlet of your water heater is exceeding that, the valve will open and it will dump that excess pressure out through the hose that we've routed down underneath our RV. You will have to purchase the additional hose and potentially an adapter to get it attached to get it all set up, but you can get those at your local hardware store. In addition to protecting your system from an overpressure condition, it also protects it from temperature.

There's a four-inch probe that comes off of it to detect temperature, and it's designed to relieve any excess pressure once it hits about 210 degrees Fahrenheit, because at 212 degrees, that's when boiling occurs. And once the water starts to boil, pressure is going to rise very drastically. So it wants to stop that from occurring before it gets there. While many of the tank water heaters have relief valves made into them, a lot of your tankless units don't. And if you just replace one and you don't have a relief valve, you really want to add one to your system as a safety precaution. In the event you didn't have one, once the pressure gets to a certain point, your pipes can only hold so much pressure, and at that point they're going to burst.

And you don't want hot water bursting out potentially on you or on any of the items in your trailer or RV. On this particular trailer here, we just got done removing the tank water heater and replacing it with this tankless unit, which is going to be more efficient and it's also going to ensure that they never run out of hot water unlike that tank unit which would runs out usually after one person takes a shower. With this, we did have to buy a couple of additional components. A T here to put it in line with the outlet for the hot water. But once it was installed, at this point now we are protected from over pressure and over temperature for our system so we don't have to worry about any expensive repairs in the future or anybody getting a potential burn from over pressure or over temperature. The metal has an epoxy coating on it, which is going to protect it against corrosion so you can have long lasting operation of your valve.

When installing this on many of your metal to metal contexts, you do want to use some thread tape to ensure it seals. You can get some Valterra thread tape here at etrailer.com. And that completes our look at Camco's water pressure relief valve.

  • Replacement For 6 Gallon Atwood Water Heater
We do have a replacement that will work for your 6-gallon Atwood water heater, with the best option being a tankless water heater from Fogatti, which comes with either a white or black door: - White: Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot # LSB64FR - Black: Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot # LSB44FR The tankless heaters are really nice options because they conserve energy so well and give you immediate hot water, which is why they have...

  • Can Tankless Water Heater LSB44FR Fit in Space Where Atwood Heater G6A8E Was
Let's start with the tankless heater you asked about, and the RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB44FR measures 14-3/8" long x 15" wide x 15" tall so it should not have any issue fitting in the same space of your Atwood G6A-8E, which is the discontinued Dometic AT96121. That heater measures 12-1/2" tall x 16" wide x 18" deep but has a 14" tall door, so if you have a bit of extra room in height you should be able to replace it with the Tankless Water Heater # LSB44FR. The tankless heater is...

  • Tankless Water Heater to Replace Standard Water Heater in Travel Trailer
You can replace your busted standard water heater with a tankless water heater, and what you'll need to know is the amount of space you have in your cut out, as water heaters aren't specific fits for any make or model of trailer. The one I recommend checking out is from Fogatti: - Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR I like the Fogatti because it requires a smaller cut out of just 13" wide x 13" tall x 17-3/4" deep, but is still a powerful option, giving you up to 1-1/2 gallons...

  • Replacement For Atwood G6A-7 Water Heater
The water heater that I recommend as a replacement for your Atwood G6A-7 that will give you the best bang for your buck is absolutely the tankless option water heater from Fogatti, and you can choose from either White or Black in color: - White: Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR - Black: Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater # LSB44FR The Fogatti water heaters fit a 13" tall x 13" wide x 17-3/4" deep cut out, so you shouldn't have any problem fitting them in the same space...

  • Recommended Tankless Water Heater For 2018 Keystone Laredo Fifth Wheel RV
There are a few options when it comes to finding a tankless water heater for your 2018 Keystone Laredo 5th Wheel Rv. The main thing that comes into play here is the size of the cut out that you currently have for your water heater, which you will want to measure. The Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 60,000 BTU - 16" x 16" Door # FR98SR has cut out dimensions of 12-5/8" tall, 12-13/16" wide, and 19-3/16" deep. This has a heating capacity of 60,000 BTU. If the...

  • Replacing the G6A-7 Water Heater with Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater
I suggest you first take some measurements to verify fitment. However, specs available to me show dimensions of, 16" W x 12-1/2" H x 18"D. For the Fogatti RV Water Heater # LSB64FR, overall dimensions are 14-3/8L x 15W x 15D. The access door is 14-15/16" H x 14-15/16" W. Ease of replacement is relative, while this is not a direct remove and replace it is designed to fit most existing water heater compartments and use the existing gas and plumbing lines. • Do the Tankless Hot Water Heaters Come with Stainless Steel Unpainted Doors
I may have a solution for you, but we don't have any hot water heaters that have a stainless steel door. However, I don't see any reason that you couldn't paint the door of the Furrion # FR98SR as long as you sanded it down to get the paint off of it and made sure not to seal up the vents. With that said, if you're looking for a black water heater you could potentially use the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 41,800 Btu - Black # LSB44FR, which is a great alternative....

  • Best Way to Determine Fit of Tankless Water Heater in 5th Wheel Trailer
Really the best way to determine the fit of a tankless water heater in your 5th wheel is by the size of the cut out you have. This is the most important thing in regards to a fit, but of course you will also need to have connections there for propane and 12 volt power, though those will already be there from your previous water heater, assuming you had a gas/12 volt heater. So what you will need to do is know the size of your cut out, and you can choose the right tankless heater that way....

This unit will give you on demand hot water and a wall controller with a digital display that lets you adjust the temperature of the water as needed. This is a great option to allow you to save some space in your coach and get the convenience of hot water without waiting for the tank to heat up. This unit operates off propane gas and has an...

  • Are There Check Valves Needed When Installing the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater
In regards to the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater part # LSB44FR, there should be some sort of shutoff valve on the gas pipe, inlet pipe and outlet pipe per the instructions. As far as check valves go, you'll need to use the Camco RV Water Heater Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve part # CAM10423 on the water outlet but that's about it. The rest of the fittings would need to be obtained through a local hardware store.

  • Replacement For Atwood GC6AA-10E RV Water Heater
We do have a water heater that you can use as a replacement for your Atwood GC6AA-10E, but this particular water heater has been discontinued, so you'd need a different option. You'll just need to ensure the heater fits in the same cut out as the 12-1/2" tall x 16" wide x 18" deep Atwood, and the best option for that is from Fogatti, which fits a 13" tall x 13" wide x 17-3/4" deep cut out. These are actually tankless water heaters, which are a huge improvement over the standard heaters...

  • Tankless Water Heater To Replace Atwood 6-Gallon Model
The Atwood water heaters had some of the biggest cutout wall openings, so any unit you find to replace it will require some trim and/or backing work to mount in your RV. The cutout on your Atwood should be about 16" tall X 15-1/2" Tall X 20-7/8" Deep. If you go with the Fogatti # LSB64FR Tankless Water Heater the recommended cut out is 13" wide x 13" tall x 17-3/4" deep. You will need to frame-in a reduction to the opening to fit the new water heater. It is recommended that you use...

  • Do Furrion or Fogatti Tankless RV Water Heaters Use More Propane Than Tank Heaters
Excellent question, and tankless water heaters like those from Furrion or Fogatti will actually use less propane than their tank counterparts. The reason for that is the tankless heaters only use propane as the water is being used, so if you hop in for a quick shower, for example, propane will only be used when you have the hot water on. Tank heaters, on the other hand, heat the whole tank of water (and take much longer to heat), so even if you don't use the whole tank of hot water with...

If you don't have the depth then the Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 41,800 Btu - White Item # LSB64FR ( # LSB44FR for black ) has a cutout size of 13" wide x 13" tall x 17-3/4" deep so you'll have to cut an...
