I have a 2021 Bronco with a large spare tire on the back. Do I need to add a hitch extension to clear the tire ?

You will definitely need an extension to clear the rear tire on your 2021 Ford Bronco. When we installed the Yakima OnRamp # Y36FR on a 2021 Bronco we had to use the Yakima StraightShot Hitch Extension # Y69VR to make it fit.
Normally bike rack companies don't encourage the use of extensions for their bike racks but this one is promoted by Yakima directly so you're good to go.
