Comparing Demco Hijacker and PullRite Auto Slide 5th Wheel Hitches for a 2018 GMC Sierra 2500
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Yesterday, I erroneously asked your opinion of a Moryde hitch when I should have asked your opinion of the Pullrite automatic sliding hitch. Also, I would like your opinion of Automatic sliders in general. My truck is a 2918 GMC Sierra 2500 4 WD four door with a 6 1/2 foot bed, as stated in my original inquiry.

I can't really speak to PullRite too much as this is not a brand we carry but what we do offer is the Demco Hijacker 5th Wheel Hitch part # DM8550035 which has an automatic slide. The unique thing about the Hijacker is the jaw design and if you know anything about fifth wheel hitches, you know this is the most important part. The Hijacker has a wrap-around style jaw which offers full 360 degrees of contact with an additional slide bar for security behind this which makes for an unbreakable, tight connection that maintains a very smooth ride. I believe the PullRite just has a semi-wrap around jaw setup which I am sure still works great but I do believe the Demco Hijacker has the edge in this respect due to the full contact and additional security bar. I have attached a photo of this jaw design below for you to compare.
Please note, in order to use the Demco Hijacker 5th Wheel Hitch on your 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 you'll need the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit part # DM8552011-71.
