A typical RV entry door gas strut ranges from 10-20lbs in pressure. We carry both a 10lbs # 372-5300-10 and 20lbs # 372-5300-20 that you can use. Really it just comes down to preference and the climate. If you're in a windy climate going heavier will help prevent the door from flying open/closed in the wind.

I ordered the gas shock 372-5300-20 It looked perfect after I installed it but the door would not close since the ends of the shock are too large and there is not enough space under the door. I tried to cut the plastic of the end but there is no metal under it's all plastic press fitted ( not like the original one). So I basically cut the end (oups). Do you have an equivalent with smaller snap-on ends that would fit better under the door. Thank you. Claude
