Does Curt C13240 Class III Hitch Require Stabilizing Strap for Non-Trailer Loads

Question:

Im trying to decide between the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch #C13240 and the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch #75836 for my 2017 Hyundai Tucson Limited. Im sure I could install it by myself, but Im not going to. The local shop Ive contacted prefers to install the Curt one, but I DO NOT want to have to use a stabilizing strap for non-trailer loads. I plan to pull a kayak trailer as well as a Hollywood Racks Sport Rider 2 with an ElliptiGo and a bike. Does this Curt hitch require the stabilizing strap? I appreciate your help. Thank you!

Curt backed off on the stabilizing strap requirement a few years back, although the caveat still appears on of some of our fitguide pages for hitches where Curt hasn't yet updated the installation instructions.

The Curt # C13240 would work great on your 2017 Hyundai Tucson, as long as it isn't the Night Edition with dual exhaust tips. You needn't worry about the # 18050 stabilizing strap, so if you'd prefer the Curt versus the
# 75836 from Draw-Tite, there's no reason why you can't go that route.
