Is Fascia Trimming Required to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2015 Volvo XC60
Published 12/10/2014 >
Question:
I am interested in adding a hitch to my 2015 XC60. I was looking at the page where it is listed and another customer stated to look at the Volvo website for additional instructions for installation on the 2015. The Volvo instructions show a lot of trimming of the fascia and heat shield. The instructions do not differentiate between standard and R models. There is a note on your instructions stating trimming is needed for R versions. Can you please clarify if trimming is needed on all 2015 models non R?

If you do not have an R-Design model 2015 Volvo XC60 then you should not have to trim the rear fascia (heat shield trimming under the vehicle is still required). Take a look at the installation instructions I have linked to the right for more information. I have also linked a video that should help.
If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included to the right that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
