Parts Needed To Add 7-way Connector On 1992 Chevrolet C/K Pickup With 4-way Connector Installed
Question:
I have a 1992 Chevy pickup. It was wired to pull a boat trailer with a 4-pin socket. I recently bought a small camper. The wire for the camper is a 7 blade plug. Can this connector be somehow connect to the existing 4-pin socket on the truck, or be wired in place of the existing 4-pin socket and allow the blade plug to plug into it? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

I am happy to help.
Since your 1992 Chevrolet C/K Pickup only came with a 4-way connector but you are needing a 7-way blade connector for your new camper you will need to install the # ETBC7.
This kit will plug into your existing 4-way connector and only require a few more connections. You will need to ground the white wire to the frame of your truck, extend the black wire to the positive terminal of your battery with the included 40 amp circuit breaker, and extend the blue wire underneath the dash where the trailer brake controller will be installed. If your trailer does not have trailer brakes then just tape the wire up underneath the dash so it is already run should you need to add one in the future.
If you are needing a trailer brake controller then I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 due to it being an extremely reliable controller with great features like an easy to read LCD screen and built in diagnostics that are easy to read and understand.
i included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
