Question:

Hi, Would the Malone Seawing load assist work with the Megawing if the kayak were under 75lbs ? I have a kayak that is under that limit but am considering a heavier kayak in the future, so am thinking that the Megawing might be a better lo g term option than the seawing, but the load assist functionality is intriguing for when I am loading solo. Thanks !!

I contacted Malone to see if the MegaWing Fishing Kayak Carrier, part # MPG207, is compatible with the Stinger Load Assist for the SeaWing Carrier, part # MPG350. Unfortunately, they are not compatible.

My contact said they have had a few people ask about this, so they may bring up possibly making one in the future, but for now, they can't be used together.

As for which is the better option now, I believe the MegaWing is the best bet. If you're thinking about a heavier kayak in the future, then you don't want the 75-lb limitation of the SeaWing.

I've linked to a video review of the MegaWing. As you can see at around the 10:52 mark, it's still a relatively easy loading without the Load Assist. Just make sure to place a towel on the roof to prevent scratches.
