Question:

I just got a 2020 Jeep Wrangler JLU Willys - 4Door. I want to tow it with my 2020 Coachmen Mirada. I have seen some bumpers that look like you can attach the tow bar to the bumper for some systems. How do I find out which bumpers I can use.

Whether or not you can flat tow with a Jeep bumper is really up to the manufacturers testing; some of the big names like MetalCloak or Poison Spyder have bumpers with D-ring attachments that can be used for flat towing connections. This is great since it doesn't require that you install base plates that might otherwise affect the looks of your Jeep. You'll want to find a bumper that mounts to the frame and has solid D-ring plates built into the bumper, not bolted on for the best compatibility. This should be clearly stated in the specs of most of the bumpers when you're shopping, but you may need to reach out to manufacturers to confirm this once you've narrowed down the bumpers you like.

When you decide on a bumper that you like that's also rated for flat towing, you can use something like the Roadmaster Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Motor Home Mount Tow Bars - 3/4" Thick # RM-035 or # RM-035-1 for 1" D-ring mounts. These adapters are compatible with most Roadmaster tow bars, but Blue Ox also makes a similar product with the Blue Ox Aftermarket Bumper Adapter - 1" Pin # BX88358.
