Question:
I have a 2005 keystone 5th wheel with a electric landing gear motor. Landing gear wont go up or down. There is fire going to motor I took it off and hooked it to a 12volt battery which it turns the motor. I can let it up and down manually. Any ideas to trouble shoot?

Since you're able to operate the landing gear legs manually, most likely the internal gears are okay.
Where I would check first though is the actual 12V battery that you mentioned being hooked up to. It's vital that the battery these systems are wired to are COMPLETELY charged and in good condition. I know you said you're getting power to the motor, but I'm wondering if there's enough. If you test the wiring right after the battery, you should be getting 13+ volts. If you show anything less it's likely the setup just isn't getting enough power to operate correctly and you you will want to charge the battery up or replace it. Also make sure the ground wire is still securely attached and there isn't any corrosion or debris interfering with the attachment.
Let me know what you find and we can keep troubleshooting if needed.
