1998 Ford Explorer or Expedition Trailer Wiring Not Working

Hello i have a 1998 ford expo eddie bauer and im having problem with my trailer connection. i had the wiring replaced on my utility trailer and i can not get the lights to work? im thinking its the factory wiring from the truck. which wiring do i need i want to replace the wiring on the truck.

I would start out by testing the vehicle wiring connector. Disconnect the trailer and use a circuit tester, like part # 3808, to test the 4 way wiring on the Explorer or Expedition. You should see an exposed male connection point that is the ground circuit. Next to the exposed terminal there is a female connection that is the taillight circuit. Next to that is the left turn and brake circuit. Finally on the far side is the right turn and brake circuit. If all of the circuits are working on the vehicle, you should check the trailer for proper wiring and ground connections.
If the wiring on the vehicle is not working, I would first check all of the fuses related to towing. If fuses are blown that is most likely the issue. If all the fuses are good the wiring can be replaced. For the 1998 Ford Explorer, you can use the Tow Package Wiring Harness, # 118241, if your vehicle is equipped with factory tow package wiring. If you do not have OEM tow package wiring you would need to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118345, which plugs inline with the OEM taillight connectors.
If you have a 1998 Ford Expedition, you will need to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118344, to replace the trailer wiring on your vehicle. This harness also plugs inline with the OEM taillight connectors.
