Single Regulator for Switching from Dual Tank Setup to Single Tank
Updated 12/02/2024 | Published 05/17/2020 >
Question:
I have a travel trailer that I want to replace the dual 30# propane tanks with a single 100# tank. Right now the regulator attached at the camper allows for both tanks to be connected to it at the same time. I want to replace that regulator with one that only accepts one line between camper and regulator. I need all the fittings, unions, and regulator that go between the 100# tank and the main line on the camper. I believe line on the camper is a 1/4foot male thread. I have seen options that mount the regular at the tank and others that run a line from the tank and the regular is attached at the camper line. I dont know what the correct way is or if the location of the regular matters. Im not sure if you need additional information. Im making an assumption that the regulators are universal for travel trailer use. I have a water heater, stove top, oven, and RV furnace that will run of this tank. I have read that a 100# tank has a different size thread and is left handed. Hopefully you are in the know about what is needed and have a kit for me needs. I dont know how long of hose I will need but Im going to estimate about 10foot or less.

A dual stage regulator like the part # 108221 would work great with your single 100 lb propane tank setup. Your current pigtail that goes from the tank to the regulator should work just fine as the 100 lb tanks do not use a different fitting size.
Regulators do have a orientation they need to be in so the vent is operable. this one needs to be horizontal.
