Finding Wire for Adding License Plate Light on Motorcycle
Updated 04/23/2020 | Published 04/22/2020 >
Question:
Your videos only show you wiring into an existing wire, but what if there is no wire. For example I wanted to do my license plate light for my motorcycle and wanted to mount it under the seat area right above the wheel. I have access to a ground no problem but to find a running wire Id have to splice into an existing one. The average Joe would wanna do it him/herself with the help of a video that shows these steps. You have a very clear video of installation but I was hoping you would show where you would tie in that hot wire from scratch without having one already there.

Finding a running light wire on trailer wiring for adding a license plate light typically is a matter or tapping into the running light circuit on trailer wiring. While we do have install videos on trailers we don't typically do them on motorcycles for trailer wiring as that's not what these were designed for. And we don't get a lot of requests here to install trailer lighting on motorcycles.
The best solution I can recommend would be to trace the wiring that runs to the running light circuits of your motorcycle so that you can tap the power wire of the # LPL31CB to it.
