Published 02/07/2020 >
Question:
I have this fitting on an outside faucet on my 2008 Carriage Fifth Wheel. I need to replace the hose, but cannot get the quick connect to disconnect. I thought I was smart enough to figure this out ... but whats the secret to releasing it.?

Quick connect style valves like the # PF247008 you referenced can be a bit challenging. I've found that the trick is getting the sleeve pulled back as far as possible and what gets in the way is tension in the mechanism. Sometimes you have to push in a bit on the male side of the connector to allow the sleeve to pull back all the way. So try pushing the two connectors together as straight as you can, pulling the sleeve back as far as you can, and the pieces should separate.
I also attached a link to a review video for more info on this as well.
