Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for Towing with a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder

I recommend using the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98908 for your 2019 Nissan Pathfinder because it is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2" receiver, a hidden crosstube, and a matte black finish that does a better job at hiding scratches and dings from road debris than the glossy black finish that most other trailer hitches have.

Then for wiring I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118273 which comes with a 7-Way connector and all of the relays you need to activate the tow package. You can upgrade to a 4-Way/7-Way connector by using the Hopkins # HM40950 and then secure either option to your hitch receiver using the Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58000.

If the trailer you plan on towing has brakes then you'll also need a brake controller. I really like the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # 331-EBRH-ACCV2 because it can be installed virtually anywhere since you only need access to the small dial. This eliminates needing to have a big brake controller under your dash where it normally makes contact with your knee. You can connect this to the OEM connector under your dash using the adapter # 3050-S.

To complete a towing setup you also need a ball mount kit. I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it includes two ball mounts, one with a 3/4” rise/2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise/4” drop, a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You will want to refer to the attached ball mount article to ensure that this kit is correct for your towing application.
