How To Measure the Bolt Pattern on a 15 Inch Wheel With 5 Lug Bolt Holes
Updated 04/27/2012 | Published 04/26/2012 >
Question:
Im confused on the wheel measurement. If I measure my 5 lug 15inch wheel as the 1st example explains it comes out to 4 1/2inch if I measure as the 2nd example the D value is 3inch center of adjacent hole to hole. This is over a $500 order so I want to make sure Im ordering the right parts. Does this hub 84556UC3 come with the lug nuts? It does not show or list them but the 84556UC3EZ does show them. Thanks

When measuring to determine the bolt pattern of a wheel with an odd number of lugs, like a 5 lug wheel, you are basically measuring the diameter of a circle that would run through the center of each lug hole.
If you are measuring the wheel the easiest way is to measure the distance between the center of one lug hole to the center of the lug hole adjacent to it, then look on the chart and if that measurement is 2-5/8 inches the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2. If it measures 3 inches the bolt pattern would be 5 on 5. I am including a picture that will show where to measure.
I am including a link to a video that will also show you how to measure a bolt pattern. The video also shows another way to measure a wheel with a 5 lug bolt pattern.
The Dexter Trailer Hub & Drum Assembly, part # 84556UC3, does include the lug nuts. It also includes the bearings, races, seal, and grease cap.
