Wiring a 2002 Volkswagen New Beetle
Published 06/18/2009 >
Question:
Have a 2002 New Beetle. Checked the wiring diagrams on the car vs. the hook-ups needed for the 119178KIT. The harness calls for Rt Turn, Lt Turn, Stop Lights and Tail Lights. I can identify the Left and Right Turn wires from the diagram, but my only options for the Stop and Tail Lights are M21Left Brake/Tail, M22Right Brake/Tail and M25High Mount Brake Light. If I dont have a separate Brake and Tail light connection will this harness work? How do I wire to this? I have the wiring diagrams, is there a way I can email them to someone and they help me out with figuring out the connections? Thanks

The best way to find the correct wiring to attach the converter is to use a circuit tester to determine which wire serves which function. The best spot to access the wiring is behind the taillight assemblies. According to the information I have, the 2002 Beetle uses a separate wire for the brake and turn signals.
