Troubleshooting Electric Trailer Jack that is Seized Up
Published 10/04/2019 >
Question:
I have a 2000 keifer built live in horse trailer. My electric jack has issues i tried to attempt to lift it manually with the handle that comes with it. It seemed like I was fighting with the gears and was unable to manually lift trailer. Is there a way to disengage either electric motor or whatever is making it difficult possibly lift 5th wheel.

If your trailer jack isn't working even with the manual override then it sounds like your gears are binding. The only way to fix this is to take the jack off of your (once your trailer is secured) trailer and service it with a repair kit. If you let me know what exact trailer jack you have I can see if we have a repair kit for it. Otherwise the only other solution would be to replace the entire jack. I have attached a link to our selection of trailer jacks that you can filter through if this is the case for you.
Let me know what jack you have on your trailer or if you'd like to replace it entirely and I'd be happy to help!
