I have previously purchased a Curt 56170 4 flat for my 2015 Honda Pilot. Will the converter that comes with the kit also work for a 7 wire plug application?

Not all of the functions that a 7-way needs will be present on the converter of the 4-way kit part # C56170 that you referenced. So if you need to convert to a 7-way like with the # 118265 you'd need to replace the converter box that you have with the one that comes with this kit.
