Best Trailer Hitch for a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited
Question:
What is the best hitch for the newer 2018 JLU?

Expert Reply:
The best trailer hitch for your 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT78MR because it has a higher weight rating than the other trailer hitches available (indicating a stronger construction), has a longer receiver to help accessories clear your spare tire, and features safety chain loops that remain under your rear bumper for a clean look after the installation. I have attached pictures and an installation video for you to reference.
For a towing application you would need the Curt T-Connector # C56407 4-Way Flat wiring harness and a ball mount. I recommend checking out the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit # 989900 but you will want to reference the linked ball mount article to ensure that the 3/4" rise/2" drop or 2-3/4" rise/4" drop ball mounts are correct for your towing setup. An installation video of the Curt wiring kit has been linked for you to reference as well.
If you plan on carrying some bikes then I highly recommend using the RockyMounts BackStage # RKY10002 because it is a platform style bike rack that secures bikes by the wheels which makes it compatible with any bike frame style that doesn't have a front fender. The best feature on this rack is the swinging arm that allows you to keep your bikes loaded and swing the carrier out of the way for complete rear hatch access (see attached review video).
