Brake Controller Port Location on a 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500
Question:
I have a 2017 Mercedes Sprinter / 2500 Cargo Van / Factory hitch assembly with pre-wired 7 pin socket. I looked for a socket for a plug and play Prodigy P 3 controller cable. Can’t find it anywhere. Saw in your QandA that the 2017 factory hitch/wiring assembly has no connector for “plug and play”. Is that true? If not, where is the connector located ? If true, is this controller a good option if I do not want to hard-wire a controller? Since my factory installed hitch and 7 pin connector are in place. Do I need to do any other wiring to make this operational. Or do I just mount the controller on the trailer and connect the plugs?

According to my research, if your 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 came with a factory 7-way trailer connector then you will have the brake controller connector pre-wired. This pre-wired connector should be under the driver side seat which you can see in the attached photo. The connector is green with four pins inside.
Once you locate this connector you can then install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 using the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers part # 3063-P which as you mentioned is completely plug and play. The Prodigy P3 as I am sure you know if one of the best brake controllers on the because it has integrated safeguards for protection and an easy to read/use LCD display. After you plug the controller in and mount it to your dash you will be good to go.
If you cannot locate the connector or for some reason your vehicle was not equipped with this then you might also like the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 which doesn't require any hardwiring whatsoever. This brake controller will use your phone to control all of the settings and manual override. The reason this is so popular is because it allows you to use a device you are already comfortable with, your phone. I have attached a review video for you.

Hey so my 2017 sprinter has the green plug described but when I test it I have constant power in one wire but when the break is applied nothing changes.
