Installation of Hanger Brackets and Springs for Tandem Trailer Axles
Question:
i went to a trailer supply and ask for weld on brackets for tandem wheel trailer that we are building her gave me 4 hangers that were like 2 that was for the front spring for both sides and back springs for both side for the middle hangers he gave me two that were 3inch long or more the axles and the equializer dont look right .. but looking at all other trailers its only like an 1inch 0r 1-1/2inch off of where the other trailers are when no load on them..and what the pictures i have seen of what they should look like..i hope what i said makes cents to yall..

It is not uncommon for the trailer hangers on a tandem axle trailer to be all the same size or for there to be different sizes that can be 1-1/2 to 2 inches different in height when you compare the center hanger to the front and rear. For example, the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs - 2-1/2" Front/Rear, 4-1/2" Center # APT8 has that 2 inch difference in size. I've attached an article on suspension to help further as well.
You will want to make sure you position your axles properly and space your hangers correctly as well.
I've attached a photo of typical dimensions used for 3,500 lbs axles and hanger locations.
