Question:

My full size Ford Transit has very tall mirrors. Some of my old universal towing mirrors will not work since the mirror is so much taller than my pickup was. Do you know if these mirrors KS3891-2 would work? They look a little larger than most so I was hoping that the straps would be long enough to fit my van. Ford sells mirrors on stalks for a wider view but they do not telescope so I do not want the wide mirrors since I only haul my trailer a few times a year. Mirrors are 13 inches tall by 8 inches wide.

Thank you for the photo of the OEM mirror on your 2016 Ford Transit T250. I added your quoted dimensions to the photo.

Although we do offer clip-on towing mirrors made for taller mirrors, none is made to fit as tall a mirror as your 13-inch Ford mirrors. Part # CM11952 from CIPA is made for taller mirrors but its compatibility is limited to mirrors that are 7 to 10 inches tall. Since the Ford mirrors are pretty tall as OEM mirrors go, the aftermarket mirror companies figured there is not enough need to design an aftermarket towing mirror. I confirmed with CIPA that they offer no clip-on towing mirrors that are compatible.

What you might consider instead is an independent door-mount mirror like # 11650-2 (a set of two) and # 11650 (a single mirror). These grip on to the top and bottom of the door and feature a 5 x 8 mirror surface. Their fully-extended length is 17-inches.
