Right Hand Trailer Turn/Brake Fuse on a 2016 Ram 3500
Updated 09/24/2018 | Published 09/22/2018 >
Question:
I hate the new style cartridge fuses. My right hand side turn signal, lights, etc. Wont wont work. I have no doubt that I blew a fuse, but with the new style, its hard to see if its blown. This happened recently and the dealer found one blown, but by just looking at it, you wouldnt have known it was. The diagram shows 2 or 3 different fuses that control different trailer lighting functions. The dealership couldnt find the problem yesterday either. Help!

It sounds like the right hand turn and brake signal lights are not working on your trailer. If that is the case then the first place to check as you mentioned is the fuse box. In the fuse box located under the hood of your 2016 Ram 3500 you will want to check the F81 slot which is a 20 amp yellow fuse according to the owner's manual. This is a micro style fuse, not a cartridge style fuse. You will want to pull the micro fuse and shine a flashlight through the plastic casing to make sure the electrode is not broken.
If all else fails then you need to break down and start tracing the wires back on both the vehicle and trailer to make sure there are no breaks or frays.
