Will Bike Rack Blocking View of License Plate Cause Issue with Thule DoubleTrack

Question:
Pretty much all bike racks that are not on the roof will block the rear license plate which is not legal in the State of CA. I was surprised to not find an obvious solution to this silly problem. Do you have any advice for me beyond go for it and hope for the best. Thank you!

What's interesting is that most states have similar laws about the license plate not being obstructed which is what a bike rack will at least partially do, but we've yet to hear about a situation where a police officer gave someone a hard time for their bike rack.
The Thule Doubletrack Pro XT # TH92BJ that you referenced would block the view of the plate to a certain extent but most likely would not get you in trouble.
