Replacement Hitch Bolt for Older Yakima Bike Rack that Fits Wider Toyota Hitch Receiver
Question:
I have an old 1995? 2inch receiver Yakima bike rack. It is a 4 bike rack that will swing down and out of the way when unclipped. It has a 5/8inch bolt no cotter pin hole in bolt head. It is now too short because my Toyota receiver is wider than standard. I have the locking device that goes over the end tit of the bolt. I see other folks need the longer bolt for their Toyotas too. Which bolt do I need???

I spoke with my contact at Yakima regarding your older model 4-bike rack. He said that based on your description, the correct replacement hitch bolt is the part # Y8890200. He stated that this bolt was actually re-designed with the wider Toyota hitch receivers in mind and it features a usable length of 3-1/2 inches. This will work perfectly with your existing Yakima rack.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also take a look at.
