In order to find the correct wire on your 2001 Toyota Sequoia that connects to the red wire on your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195, you will need to locate the cold side of the brake light switch. The brake light switch will be located at the top of the brake pedal and will have several wires coming out from it. You will want to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to find the wire that only has power when the brake pedal is pressed. This will be the wire you use for the brake controller.
Because vehicle manufacturers often change the wire colors they use at the factory, it is difficult to connect wires based on color alone. Based on the information I could find, it appears that this wire in your vehicle may be green with a white stripe. You can start by testing this wire to see if this is correct on your Sequoia.
