I am going to tow a flats boat with 2012 jeep liberty 4x4 the tongue weight is only 90lbs but fully loaed boat ice battery motor trailer and gear will be around 3200lbs . do you think I am good to travel around 60mph highway 30 miles ? no brakes on trailer thank you

Expert Reply:
Most trailers aren't required to have brakes until they exceed 3500 lb as a rule but state laws can vary as can vehicle manufacturer requirements. However, it is wise to add brakes to a trailer that more than 1/2 the weight of the tow vehicle. Your driving style will have an impact on the safety of towing without brakes.
The bigger issue is your 2012 Jeep Liberty 4x4 is not rated to tow 3200 lbs. Check your owners manual for more information. From what I can find online it looks like the max towing capacity is 2,000 lbs.
