Hitch To Replace Factory Hitch On 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat

Question:

Says hitch 14357 will not work on my vehicle Or doesnt know of a hitch that will, because I have a factory hitch?????? If removing the factory hitch due to rusting , Why would this hitch not replace or work for a replacement???? 2004 Ford F-150 lariat, crew cab , short bed , 4x4, new body style.. thanks for your assistance in helping me understand!!

The factory hitches are often welded on, so you would need to have the hitch cut off if that is the case to have a replacement. All of the aftermarket hitches from all our manufacturers say will not work with factory mounted hitch, so a hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2" # C14357 most likely mounts in the same location which makes sense since you are looking to replace and not add an additional hitch to the existing one. Because it hasn't been fitted with a factory hitch removed, I can't confirm that you won't need to drill holes for this hitch to fit your frame.
