Question:
40foot gooseneck container trailer. How much weight can I haul with load rated E tires with 12,000 # axels?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The weight capacity of a Load Range E tire will depend on its size. For example, the Kenda ST235/85R16 # AM10295 is the highest capacity Load Range E Tire that we carry and it has a maximum load of 3,640 lbs at 95 psi. If your gooseneck container trailer has 4 tires, the total load capacity of your tires will be 14,560 lbs. So although the two 12,000 lb axles on your trailer can technically hold up to 24,000 lbs, your overall setup will be limited to the maximum capacity of your tires. The weight capacity of a towing setup will always be limited by its weakest component.
However, most 12K axles will usually have dual wheel setups like the Provider Wheel # TA29MR and the Taskmaster Tire # TTWP15175 to meet or exceed the capacity of the axle. These do not come pre-mounted, you would get them mounted at a local shop upon arrival.
I have included a link to our selection of Load Range E Trailer Tires. What you choose will depend on the size and bolt pattern you are needing for the wheel (if you need a tire with wheel).
